Frequently asked Questions

Q:  Do you see individuals as well as couples?

A:  Yes, I really enjoy seeing individuals as well.  I like
to help all kinds of people with their relationships,
whether it is with their spouse, parents, children,
siblings or co-workers, or just making their lives
     better.

Q:  Do you do pre-marital counseling?

A:  Yes, I think it is very important to think about all the issues
related to marriage before the wedding, so there are fewer
surprises down the road.  I use an extensive questionnaire to
     help discover potential problems.

Q:  Are you a Christian Counselor?

A:  I am a  Christian who does counseling.  I find that often people  want a                      counselor who shares their beliefs, but is not necessarily a Bible-based                    counselor.  I am happy to help people incorporate their beliefs in the
treatment, but only at the person's request.

Q.  How long do I have to come to counseling?

A.  Each situation is different.  Generally, we start with sessions once a week.               However,  if you are having a particularly difficult time, sessions could be                 scheduled two times a week for a brief period of time.  Then, when things start       to get better, sessions could be reduced to every other week.

Q.  How long before things start to get better?

A.  Every couple is unique.  Some couples may start to see improvement after only      a few sessions; for others it may take longer, depending on the situation.

Q.  What if my spouse doesn't want to attend sessions with me?

A.  It's OK if your spouse doens't want to come in.  I have worked with individuals         on how to respond to their spouse, and many have seen improvement.
